Shawano Community High School (SCHS) provides a well-rounded educational program that serves over 900 students wishing to attend college, technical school, the military and those who will immediately enter the work force after graduation.  SCHS has a number of advanced placement courses for students to achieve college credit while in high school and a career education program that gives students hands-on experience in their chosen field.  State-of-the-art technology is integrated throughout the school providing students with access to information along with an exceptional fine arts program and foreign language offering.  SCHS offers a wide array of extracurricular opportunities for many interests including a 750-seat auditorium, four-station field house and a six-lane swimming pool.

As of Summer 2026, Shawano Community High School is undergoing an exciting and transformative referendum project that will expand opportunities for students and the broader community. Improvements include a brand-new athletic complex, an expanded weight training facility, a renovated theater and auditorium, and enhanced technical education spaces. These expanded learning areas will feature state-of-the-art culinary and commercial kitchen facilities, along with upgraded metal fabrication, automotive technology, and woodworking shops—further strengthening hands-on learning opportunities and preparing students for future careers in skilled trades and technical professions.
